Our Experience
I finally decided to try Crayola's Model Magic after seeing my niece's beautifully sculpted figurines at her birthday party. I wanted something versatile and easy to use for my upcoming craft sessions with my kids over the holidays.
After unboxing the four packs of White Model Magic, I was immediately impressed by how soft and moldable it is – almost like playdough but less sticky. My kids loved that they could create their sculptures without any mess or fuss, and the air-dry formula meant we didn't need an oven to bake them. Plus, the white color made it easy for them to paint and decorate afterwards.
However, I did notice that the material can crumble slightly when handled too much after drying, so we had to be careful not to overhandle our creations.

This model magic is so much better than air dry clay!! It is way less messy. We haven't had any issues with cracking. The kids love playing with it. When it drys it is still pretty soft, especially in high humidity environments but it's not a huge issue. My kids were taught that you can color it with crayola markers, they take a chunk of model magic, squish it into a disc, color on it with the marker, then work it in to the model magic. I love working with this clay. I use it to make flower mirrors, to decorate vases, to add 3d pieces to my handmade wreaths, I make sandworm planters.. literally the list goes on. It's so easy to work with. It will dry, kinda quick but not too quick. You can always spritz a very teeny amount of water to your clay to make it dry slower. I haven't had issues with cracking. The amount you get in these tubs IS BOMB! If you buy the same amount in small packs you spend a good bit more. It's just a fun
Very fun to have. I like that you have the option to air dry or reuse. Pigmentation is great , really great thing to have as a homeschool mom or just because. Great for adults too! Very user friendly
