I wasn't expecting much at this price point, but for under sixty bucks, the LeapFrog LeapReader System was too tempting to pass up when I saw it on sale. My five-year-old, Lily, had been struggling with reading, and I figured any interactive help couldn't hurt. After three weeks, I'm surprised by how much she's taken to this system. The pink LeapReader pen has become her favorite toy! It's not just a novelty though; it's really helping her learn. She loves touching the pages and hearing the words sounded out. It's made such a difference in her confidence already. I absolutely love that each book comes with three modes - Auto, Read Along, and Just Me. It gives Lily options to grow into as she progresses.

My first grader was having such a hard time learning to read and was behind kids her age. She loves this pen reader thing. It’s so fun to use and helps so much with the sounding out letters, site words, and reading comprehension. It comes with so many books so she has plenty of practice sounds out long and short vowels. Big plus is the volume control so she can use it in the car, with us and at bed time with different levels of volume. It’s pricey but 100% worth it.

Best investment ever. Love this set, nice variety of books, great price, great for a variety of ages, readable. Have to get a carrying case to carry it around but making do with just a bag. Easy to use and the almost 3 yr old loves the books and pen.
