Okay so I really like this product! I bought it for my 5-year-old because she's starting to grasp basic math concepts at school, and I thought this cash register toy would make learning fun for her. And wow, was I right! First off, let me tell you, she absolutely loved it from the moment we took it out of the box. The realistic features like the solar-powered calculator and the cash drawer that actually opens with an authentic "ka-ching" sound? She was sold! It's been a hit at playdates too; all her little friends want to take turns being the shopkeeper. Two things I really loved about this toy were how it helped her practice addition and subtraction naturally, and how it encouraged creative role-play.

This is the third time I have purchased this item over the last 10 years for 4-year-olds. It is perfect for playing grocery store, and learning how to count money (although I replaced all the funky plastic coins with REAL coins). One 4-year-old wouldn’t let it out of her grasp and wanted to take it to BED with her!!! Since counting money is now taught in first grade, it’s a great head start for this age and can be used (along with the REAL built-in calculator) for at least until age 7-8. It
This set was a great Christmas gift. It is good quality. Has working sounds and buttons, came with a nice set of money, paper bills and stamped plastic coins that are very realistic! It is ready to use with no assembly and it is easy for little fingers to play with. We had bought the Little Tykes Restaurant also and were disappointed that it didn’t have a cash register. This cash register was its perfect accessory, it was perfect size, it fit right on the counter!
Good product to teach your kids how to count money. Kids like to play store too.
This is great for elementary school age children, especially those learning about the denomination of money and coins. The drawer on ours broke within a week and Learning Resources’ customer service was top notch. They sent us a replacement immediately. Overall It’s a great item, just remind younger ones to be a bit gentle with it.
My 3 year old and 4 year old absolutely love this toy! They just grab things around the house to “sell” while they take turns being cashier and patron.
